48-56 six vs 48-52 eight weight difference
This has come up several times concerning the weight difference between the 6 and 8.
I looked at Alex Burr's General Information manual and was surprised. Figured the eight would be much heavier.

Shouldn't be too big of a surprise. The overall length of each is about the same. Biggest difference is the 8 has more holes in it, ergo, less weight.0

Well, the only weight difference would be in the engine. The 8 block is a little bigger, (exactly 2 in longer) but it's offset by the bigger holes in the 6. Figger that one out.0

Having wrestled more than a few Stepdown sixes in and out The eight seems a bit heavier! Maybe my advanced age? I ain't gonna wrestle another eight!0
