gas tank door guard

When I bought our 54 hornet hollywood there was a gas tank door guard in the trunk. I took it todat to a friend to have him fix and polish the guard. I would like to know what holds it in place around the door. I see 2
holes for rubber bumpers for the door to hit against. Ray

    the correct bumpers have a counterbore to allow screws to hold it to the quarter
