Solenoids operate differently
I have two old overdrive solenoids that I have been alternating on my 48. The one that is on the car now does not downshift as smoothly as the other. Sometimes I have to let off the gas two or three times before the OD kicks in. The other one shifts as soon as the governor reaches the kick in speed, but it's the same one that locked me out of reverse twice. When I took the second one off, I noticed that oil had leaked into it. I've replaced the transmission seal and I'm tempted to put the second solenoid back on. Just thought I would get some input from you guys before I did.
