Rear Seat Size

Was wondering, are all stepdown back seats interchangeable? Mine are just a set of springs. They are Pacemaker. Was thinking I'd like to find one with the fold down arm rest but need to know if they will all fit. I figure the convertible rear seat must be too small but the others seem like they would work.
Anyone know?
Thanks.

All Rear-Seat Stepdown bottom cushions are the same with the exception of coupe. All Rear-Seat Stepdown Seatbacks are same for closed cars with different armrest for coupes (?).

Stepdown Convertible rear seats are entirely different than any other stepdown.

53-54 wasp are cheaply made, don't have the thick coil spring construction of the 50-51 Pacemaker.

    Didn't know that part!
  • Good to know. Thanks guys. Mine is a 52 Pacemaker coupe.

I have a rear '54 Hornet coupe seat with arm rest that I am not going to use. Needs to be restored. Any interest?
  • Not only is Ken correct but there is also a difference in the 51 to 54 seat. Earlier Hornets and Commodores had better made seats than Wasps or Pacemakers. It's like the difference between a comfortable chair and a church pew. Earlier the seat the better on stepdowns.

I've owned one ( or more ) of each year step down. The 48-50 seats are the most comfortable, IMHO.
