Hudson/Terraplane Pressure plate.
Many years ago my father manufactured a special gig to hold the P/P so they can be stripped & rebuilt, this gig served for both 9" and 10" Plates. Over the years we would have done hundreds of P/P using this gig.Only this morning I just finished another one for a club member. The first photo shows the P/P held in position, the second photo shows the special guage he made to make sure the three fingers were adjusted to the right height.

A well made and solid device Les, I like the pipe hinges, simple cheap and effective.
Are the 10" PPs pretty much the same, ie interchangeable from 30s to 50s?

To a point Bob, You have to be sure the pressure plate is compatible with the flywheel, there are several different types, the locating blocks can vary in size, I only like to rebuild a customers own pressure plate that way we are 100% sure that it is suited to his flywheel.0

Good photos of an interesting subject - rebuilding pressure plates. Looks like its mounted on a lathe face plate. Thanks for sharing Les0

No lathe plate there Barry, all specially made for this gig.

On the early cars the posts were on the flywheel. Around 1940 the posts moved inside the [pressure plate. These cannot interchange.0
