Where do I find the power wire to light the quadrant light to tell me what gear I am in at night. I have a hydra matic trany. For our 54 Hornet Hollywood. Hudsonly Ray

  • Ray, The wire for that quadrant lighting is a # 51 bulb that should be found by unscrewing the cap on the die cast hydramatic indicator housing that attaches to the steering column. The bulb has a long wire going through the shifter selector rod coming out of the bottom of the rod near the neutral safety switch. This attaches to the red wire on the harness.

Thanks Hudzila Where does the red wire come from and where would it be hooked to to give power to bulb. The harness in engine compartment was a mess so it is hard to find. Ray
  • Ray, OK well look where the neutral safety switch is located. That part of the harness is where two wires go to the two studs on the switch. There should be a female connector on a third wire near where those other two wires are located. This wire should be red with a black chaser (I think) . That is the power feed wire for the hydramatic indicator light.
