My temp gauge has 4 marks seems to be running consistently at the 3rd mark - don't have a manual temp guage at the moment, so wondering if this is normal range when warm?
Thanks!
Thanks!

I would not worry too much on precisely where the needle is . They are not known to be real accurate to begin with . Does it boil out any coolant from the over flow ? If you are real concerned you can find someone with a laser beam temp shooter and use it to take the temp while its running.

WHAT I DID WAS GO TO HABOR FRIGHT AND BOUGHT MYSELF A TEMP GAUGE THAT YOU POINT (A INFRARED TEMP GAUGE) AND IT GIVES YOU THE TEMP THEN I STARTED MY CAR PUT A CHUNK OF CARD BOARD IN FRONT OF THE RAD. I THEN KEPT CHECKING THE RAD WITH THE GAUGE I THEN MARKED MY GAUGE IN THE CAR WITH A BIT OF NAIL POLISH IN 4 DIFFERENT PLACES AS PER THE NEW GAUGE I NOW KNOW WHERE 180 IS 200 IS AND SO FORTH I RUN A 160 THERMASTAT I ALSO TAKE IT ON OUR TRIPS WHEN WE STOP I JUST SHOOT EVERY ONES RAD AND KNOW WHO IS RUNNING CLOSE TO HOT I'VE BEEN DOING THIS FOR YEARS IT WORKS!!!0

Dan, that car has been converted to 12V. If you don't put a resistor before that gauge, it won't read right. Mine reads very accurate. Marks are: first one, is 140, halfway is 160, 3/4 of the way is 180 and mark on right is 200.
Paul's got the right idea. The handheld infrared temp gauges are a snap.0
