Hoosiercrosley - A Jet info sheet by T.L. Ray & David Sollon shows a Wells #F4805. I have a Jet manual that shows a switch that looks like the same as a stepdown - Caquest # 53-5449I. Norm0

I'VE FOUND THAT IF YOUR RUNNING DOT 5 BRAKE FULID THE OLD STYLE SWITCHS DON'T LAST LONG (ABOUT A YEAR) THE FULID MAKES THEM SLOWER THEY WILL NOT TURN ON THE BRAKE LIGHT TILL THE HAVE REACHED 20 PSI I HAVE BEEN USING THE ONES USED BY HARLEY DAVDISON IT'S A LOWER PREASURE WORKING SWITCH ( ABOUT 3 PSI) I'VE HAD ONE ON MY PACEMAKER CV FOR 5 YEARS NOW WITH NO PROBLEMS0

Barry, I put a new stoplight switch on my '54 Jet last winter. Seems to be working just fine (so far). I used Duralast from Autozone #F4805. Ran about $6, and was an easy install.

I bought two of those HD switches from PAULLARGETYPE years ago: works like a charm.0

Thanks guys, mine is doing what paulargetype was doing, I have to stand on the brakes to get the light to come on. Don't want to get hit in the butt, these Jet body parts are hard to find!
