DOH!
I got a little over-zealous Sunday, too many browser windows and part numbers flying around mix in some old-man senility and you get incorrect parts ordered!
I ordered a radiator from advanced auto parts that does fit the dimensions required and has been used in other Hudson radiator replacement articles Part #433889
Sunday night I was "certain" this was the number for the brass tank/copper core model..but, when I got it here..its the plastic tank/aluminum core model w/ac
Although this radiator would fit/work nicely, I just cannot bring myself to put it in this Hudson...don't want plastic tanks, and want to be able to stress the paint a little to match the car..dumb I know, but its my car
NOW - here's my real issue...I had no idea there's not a single freaking Advance Auto Parts near me! I got them mixed up with an "Auto Zone" nearby but now that I looked again...Advanced Auto Parts is mostly east coast..I'd have to ship it back to return it.
So unless I figure out a cheap way to return it to Advanced Auto Parts I'd sell it for 200 clams plus shipping and its yours.
(paid 283 + shipping)
An expensive lesson for me, decent deal for you.
If anyones interested let me know...
Also the new one I ordered today from Orielly (they had it in stock locally at the DC - I'll get it tomorrow) is #433511

I had success once with a UPS package writing "return to sender" on the box and dropping it off at their depot. Got my refund and I don't know who paid the return shipping...but it wasn't me. I'm sure you've looked at your options, but I wanted to share...
Good luck!

Call the vendor and request a Returned Material Authorization (RMA) for the radiator. When contacting the vendor, note you thought your order was for a metal tank radiator, but the part received has plastic tanks, ECT. In most cases the radiator vendor will send you a replacement meeting your specifications and ask you to place the original radiator into the package in which the replacement radiator is sent. All you have to do is place the RMA shipping label on the outside of the box, mark out your shipping information and call for it to be picked up for return to the vendor. You get the right part and the transaction should be 0 additional dollars albeit more time to correctly obtain the desired part. Then you have the choice of keeping the O'Rielly radiator or returning it or use the second item in your other Hudson?0

Ken - I appreciate the advice. I'll keep my eyes open for a rebuildable core, I gave away the one I had a couple years ago;) so I don't have anything on hand to rebuild.
I'll have to put one of these in it for now - its bigger and has gotta be better than what in it at the moment.0 -
As long as you have done nothing to the radiator Advance will take it back. Their return policy is very liberal, I know I work for Advance and we end up taking most anything back.

Dan-
I'm sure there is a slew of them in Harmon's old stash, which is still in OR. Also, just across the border in ID, the Eshelman's would have quite a few re-buildable cores if you decide to go that route. Like Ken, I agree, you need more cooling capacity.0
