Extra parts

Hi Guys,

I want to preserve my old 1940 Hudson. I can't afford to restore it, but I want to gather extra parts so as parts wear out I can replace them.
What parts do you recommend that I collect? I already have extra tune-up parts, e.g., coil, plug wires, points etc. In addition I have picked up extra tail lights lenses and bezels & wiper blades. Do I need to acquire things like an extra starter, or generator? What else do you think I should try to gather?
I appreciate your help and suggestions.

All the Best,

Marvin

Water pump, for sure- not easy to rebuild without specialized tools. Starter and generator would be good to have, but knowing someone who can rebuild yours might be just as useful. Carb kit, or perhaps an extra carburetor. U joints. Distributor. Fuel pump.

All of the switches. Ignition coil. Spare bulbs. Instrument cluster.
Probably won't use any of it , these cars hold up well with the kind of care given by a collector.
