This truck was in the logging barn Hudson collection of Mr. Harbaugh in McMinnville, OR until recovered.

Press just did a great restoration on this PU. It was also prominently displayed at a one of the huge SEMA shows in Vegas some years ago (one when Smokey Yunick spoke) + Ivan had his then '51 Hornet cp. "racer" on display too.

There was an old dealer in Salem, Ore. that had a huge stash of PUs. Ye gods I even remember his name, Clarence Shreck!!!! I remember going there & took my 1st wife & I around to see all his Hudsons as I remember he had a bunch stashed out at the state fairgrounds. As I recall he had some model of a '42 conv. too. After his demise there was a big auction of his cars, as I recall he had 10-20 PUs + some other Hudsons. Helluva nice old guy ~

The Harbaugh's had around 150 Hudsons: about 50 inside the barn as I recall and another 100 outside.

Pic is Mrs. H with the truck as it came out of the barn. Yes, its Oregon near the coast and it was raining that day!

Some wicked nice looking pre-1940's pickups in that collection. They were beautiful in style and could outhaul a lot of post-1970 pickups. loadwise. Just because, back then it said 1/2 ton that figure was more for selling than what the actual capacity (over 1/2 ton) was. I had a 1964 International pickup one time - a C-1100. This was a 1/2 ton body on a 3/4 ton frame (don't even ask why - that was the way International did things). The bed on that truck was 8' 6" long (another IH quirk), 4 feet wide and 2 feet high. Anybody doing the math that knows about stacking wood will know that's a 1/2 cord of wood (4 x 4 x 8 feet). In addition to that I had side boards on the bed so was stacking above 2 feet. 1/2 or 3/4's of a cord is weigh hevier than 3/4 ton. No problems hauling the stuff - my wifes stepfather tore up a 1982 Ford !/2 ton trying to load it like I was loading the IH.
