Not really, it is a full frame car, not too heavy, and the engine compartment is setup to accommodate the Studebaker 6. The frame actually dates from the early 50s when they used the Commander 6, which was a fairly beefy engine as well.0

Studebakers were pretty good cars in their day. In fact a Hudson-Studebaker merger would have been, to say the least, interesting - IMHO.
