radio in a stepdown
What are you guys doing to get your old hudson radio working?
I really dont want to stick a modern radio on the dash of my stepdown but i will need some tunes on these long flat roads.haha
I replaced all the wax resistors and tested my tubes but i think i have an issue with the amplifier circuit and i dont know enough to fix that. I cannot turn it up to anything louder than a whisper.
Any suggestions? if somebody has one that works i would be interested in buying it.
thanks

There's a few people out there fixing Hudson Radios. Steve Engel is probably the most prominent choice.0

No reason to sell yours or buy another contact Steve. Steve is listed in the WTN for radio repair. That is where I plan to go.....0

Just as an experiment try a different speaker . Sometimes the cone gets stuck in a rusty magnet . And will give that same result ,

Just addressed this radio issue.(54) I got lucky and found a good used one from Don Crane. Hope he does not mind me putting his name out there?. You will find him a top notch guy. Replaced the speakers and cleaned up the old radio and I can know listen to Rush Limbaugh on this old tube AM radio. Also replaced the antenna. If your radio has good face plates it might be worth while to have it re-newed by a pro. In my case the original radio was too far gone to fix .Keep looking you will find one. It took me over a year to finally find one as most are in bad shape. I know of a rebuilt one from a pro for I think about $150.00 but it has the Hudson logo on it and round buttons making it a 53 or older one?0

This message is for Steve Engel. I am a HET member with a 1952 hornet and 1937 Terraplane. But my Question is about my 1936 Cord radio. I believe it to be a Crosley model 245? Can Steve bebuild it to good working order. It is out of my phaeton . The speaker is in the box. The outside and internals are in good condition.Thanks,karlmystic@aol.com or 860 460 9606.
