Step dpwn gas pedal
I have two stepdown accelerator pedals, both need help. One is missing the rubber on the front, but still has the rod connector part on the back. So it could be used, but....The other has nice rubber on front, but nothing on the back where the rod connects . Is anyone remolding these things? I need a nice one for an automatic trans. Doesn't need the kickdown switch part. Anyone come up with a simple repair of the rod connector?

I tried bonding, Dave, but it doesn't last. Next on the list is a rivet, should work fine. Part of the trouble is finding a good rubber for the connecting rod that's not cracked or too dried out. If you have a good pedal, but just missing the front rubber cover, you can buy a new cover from WRP.0

Be very careful when removing the pedal. I learned the hard way to remove it with the metal ball still in it so that I do not break this very delicate socket joint. It takes a little longer to remove but can not afford to try and find another one. I think Stew Coleman sold me a used one. They are hard to find and I think it took me months to finally find a good one.0

I decided to live dangerously.. I carefully removed the "socket" from the back of the pedal with no rubber. Cleaned the other pedal surface mechanically and chemically. Used some JB Weld to mount the socket on the good pedal. I was surprised to note that the rubber in the socket was still resilient.. Got my fingers crossed.0

When I put my gas pedal on the throttle rod I put the end of gas pedal in some boiling water and let it seep for a few minutes then popped it on . The boiling water seemed to soften the rubber and it worked great. Ray0

Thanks for the suggestions.. I didn't see the pedal pad in Wildrick's on line catalog. What I have will have to do for the time being.. I already have a hefty order in for when they get back from the NATS.
Thanks again0 -
Dave-
WRP should have them . Did you talk to my brother? He didn't go to the National's this year and is still minding the store.
Regardless, here is one at Rockauto:
