Unless this car has recently changed hands, I spoke to the owner (he's an attorney) of this car ALOT this past spring (I had found it listed on hemmings). I got a ton of photos and haggled about price and was all set to drive down and get it when the owner got cold feet and politely decided he was not interesting in selling. I later learned that this was not the first time this had happened. BTW, rust in the passenger side quarter and in the rocker below the b-pillar indicate some investigation of the perimeter frame is in order.0

The present owner is a dealer that got it from the nephew that had inherited it from his aunt.
I told him that there might be some perimeter frame rust behind that quarter, but from what I'm seeing in the other pictures, I think it is a really solid car, never know until you can put your hands on it. He did ask me to make him an offer but I have too many projects now and I'm not a dealer-car turner, would love to restore it for someone else.
I think this would be an excellent Hornet to restore if you could get it in the 3,000 range. Original picture and documentation is nice as well.0 -
I agree with Ken and Kerry.0

"it was running good when parked" and it was supposedly parked in 1968.
What possible difference does it make that it was running 45 years ago? You might as well say it was running when new or it was running the last time it ran.
I'm seeing this statement more often lately and I always wonder why the sellers think that it matters.

I like that one, Chris: It was running the last time it ran.
That's hilarious, you made me snort. )0 -
Twice this week I have heard the term "Tweaker." Never have heard it before...Such an educational forum....0

Or like many of the adds --it's in good condition "for it's age" ??
