Estimate: $ 20,000 - $ 30,000
308-cid Hudson Hornet engine
Early in-out gearbox
Drilled and lightened Model A frame
Alloy body
Early components
This Hudson-powered racecar was purchased as a complete car, less engine, prior to World War II by a gentleman named George Place from Ohio. Mr. Place is able to convey that the car has an original alloy body that is fitted to a drilled and lightened Ford Model A frame with an original 1932 Ford front axle.
The car is said to have always run Hudson “Sixes,” the current power is derived from a 308 Hornet that is connected to an in-out gearbox. The car has the early quick-change, early front crank tach-drive, an external sump oil pump that holds approximately four gallons of oil in the pan and sump, needle-bearing cam and early gauges. The wheels are alloy discs and they are mounted with a center spindle knock-off.
The only thing updated has been to apply a more modern paint scheme which resembles that of the Kuzma driven to victory in the 1952 Indianapolis 500 by Troy Ruttman for car owner J.C. Agajanian.
