54 Hornet, 50-51 Pacemaker three spoke, and 50-51 Super 6 three spoke, steering wheel cores needed
Hi Hudson Folks,
I've started started preparing to cast steering wheels again. I really need to obtain some steering wheel cores in order to proceed. If anyone out in hudson land has any of the 54 or 50-51 three spoke pacemaker or super 6 wheels they could part with it would really help me out if you would sell them to me. (I don't need any two spoke wheels at this time). I especially need some 54s. I need them in order to practice pouring wheels so I can get more of the bugs worked out of the casting process. The biggest challenge I have that I haven't yet been able to completely solve, is getting the cores to stay in the center of the newly poured wheel. If the core ends up to close to the edge of the plastic then you can see it and the wheel is a reject. There is no way to repair this problem if it occurs. The only thing that can be done is to break all of the plastic off of the core and pour it again. I imagined from the very beginning of starting to cast wheels that this would be a challenge. It certainly has been, but I think I can solve it if I can get some cores to practice with. Thanks for any help or leads you can give me for finding some cores. I also have an ad coming out in the next issue of the WTN asking for cores. Phone: 360-384-6549 ; cell: 360-220-4097 ; Email: diner1000@comcast.net Thanks again. Rob
