OK I've had a few inquires recently about another run of hood prop springs for the 46-7 models. I had talked to the guy who manufactures these and he said the price of steel has gone up since the last order so accordingly prices will be higher. I'm trying to find out if there is enough interest to produce another run. Price per pair will be $55 plus freight. Freight in the continental US would be around $4-5 I'm guessing. Minimum run I would have to commit to would be 10 pairs. Are you folks interested?

I would think those springs could also work on 40-42's?
  • I'm thinking they are the same spring. At least on the 42. Maybe someone more familiar with the 41's will step in.

Would imagine that all bonnets (hoods) opening like that would have the same springs, I know my '42 has the same springs as 1946/7
  • I am in if they will work on a 47 pickup.

I have a order in for 3 sets. That only leave 7 more sets to order to get this ball rolling.

Even if your springs look ok now it might be a good idea to get at least one spring for a spare when one breaks. I have already had one spring break in my 47 PU and the other truck I bought had 2 broken springs. After all, the original 40 to 47 Hudson car and truck springs have been work hardened opening and closing hoods (bonets) for up to 73 years back to 1940.

Lets support Huzilla in his effort to supply us with new springs that will outlast us for the rest of our lives and perhaps our children as well.
