With what it costs to plate these, it is almost cheaper to buy new ones.0

Hudson also offered velchrome (argent silver) painted wire wheels. These could be stripped and painted as they appear to be minimally rusty. While these wheels will bolt up to a Hudson, they are not the correct spoke style. These are the short-laced style used by Chrysler and DeSoto. Hudson used the long-laced style that were on Dodge and Plymouth. Also none of the reproductions have the correct spoke count as the originals.0

These look good painted, they're just not the right wheel. Hudson used lip-laced wires, which these aren't . . . they'll bolt up, though.
Just went back and looked, StillOutThere has it right.0 -
There are lip laced repros out there and other than StillOutThere not many would pick up on the 4 extra spokes of the available repros. but the difference in the lacing point will jump out to any observer that knows that they should be lip laced. The reason for the extra spokes is that it allows the makers to use their thunderbird outer rims and chrysler centers.0

I have one "lip laced" argent wheel with no rust. Actually has a decent WW bias tire on it. Will sell for $100 plus shipping.
