'30 Hudson on the road again
Have to share some photos of the latest Hudson at the C&C Garage. I bought this 1930 Standard Sedan in early May and finally have it in operating condition. I have put on 80 miles in the last week or so after tallying up only 66 miles in the previous 23 years. It was restored in the early 70's from a decent original car that drives real nice and it's style stacks up quite nicely against other cars of that time period. (I might be biased). Bob Callfas

Ray. This car was apparently sold new in Calgary and has mostly been there since that time.0

Beautiful. If only modern cars had that much class.0

Aaron, back in the day cars were built by engineers; todays cars are built by bean counters who can't think past the bottom line.

True indeed Alex. It's the same short-sighted thinking that got the auto industry into trouble. I also think that when those cars were made the buyers/owners were a lot more involved with cars. They had to do maintenance, most had to know how to drive a stick. What customers responded to influenced the design and appearance of what companies made. Now owners are less involved with their cars than banks, insurance companies, dealer mechanics, even state governments and regulators who have input into what height a bumper should be. Cars are just transportation now, not something you take pride in ownership with. Certainly not something the bean counters would allow extra expense in manufacturing cost to be added to with something like; fins or side-mounts just because they make the owners happy and add some character. I would love to see some tastefully done chrome added back onto cars.0

I have a 1996 Olds, white paint job. There are so many GM cars of this style, Olds and Buick mostly, running around Memphis I have to check license plates to find mine in the shopping center parking lot!!!!!!
