Information request - Installing a 700R4 in a Hudson

With some online research one can find several providers for "kits" to install a 700R4 Transmission onto Hudson engines (232/262/308). Available installation kits do not include information or parts to integrate the assembled engine and transmission to a Hudson car body.

This request is to find owners who have preformed this swap into a 48-54 Hudson and to begin a dialog (prefer via phone) to capture the How you completed the installation of this engine and transmission.

This post is not an encouragement to discuss the merits of replacing any OEM Hudson transmission with a 700R4.

The 200R4 is smaller in size and wotks nicely too. Cant speak for Stepdown Install since put into more difficult older Hudson's with a tight X Member. The 200 can be made to handle 500 HP. Both Trans need a 'Kit' ro replace computer control.

I believe that both the 700R4 and the 200 4R us a T.V. cable for control of the transmissions. They do not use computers, altho they do have an electrical connection to "lock up" the converter. Here's a good site for more info: http://700r4.com/faq/faq.shtml

FYI

Be Advised the TV Cable adjustment is very critical on the 200R and 400R Trans. Be sure to read the Adjustment tips before driving.... They are easily found online...I bought a simple 'Solonoid Kit' that screwed into a LS plug with a Pos & Grd to work the Lockup.
