308 engine year

Trying to find the year of manufacture for this 308.
serial number is 267338
I see 1953 Hornet starts of with 202917, and the 54 model is a 7 figure #.
Did they make enough Hornets in 53 to go all the why to 267338?

    Kerry, according to Alex Burrs hard work by posting the monthly production numbers on the HET Club Website under "library manuals, old site", your engine was produced in July(2nd or 3rd week) of 53. Actually it was the last full month that year. Only 54 were built after July. Final # was 269059. Mine was built 3rd week of Dec, 1952. Merry Christmas.
