The back of the car was made from 40s hood from the looks of it

If you read the posts the whole story is there: Bill Albright's own design and preferences, Dick Dean contracted, "HudsonJoe49" employed. "Different" is applicable

Be sure and read the whole HAMB thread- contains some entries from the builder (it's a 41 Hudson hood used for the boattail), some build pics, and at the very end, the Motor Trend article on the Martz car.

I respect Bill and I see the genius in using the hood, but I must admit that the boattail would have looked much better tapered down lower at the back. I don't know how you could have fabricated it at a reasonable cost though, at least in metal. Possibly one could have made it of fiberglass over a wood form that looked something like a canoe.

Still, it is a cool looking car as-is!
