Wrong polarity!
Can't believe I did this... just got a new battery for my '51 Pacemaker and installed it backwards! Didn't notice this until I was checking the voltage, and the meter read negative when it should have read positive. The car hadn't been run for a while, but it started (ran very rough for a couple of minutes, then smoothed out) and I let the the motor run for maybe 20 minutes before discovering the error.
Is it safe to simply re-install the battery correctly (+ ground)?
