HEAD GASKET CONSIDERATION: 1) copper vs 2) Fel-Pro steel vs 3) Best (brand) Composite Head Gasket
I am rebuilding a bored 308 with a two-three-two head, and want to know what gasket I should use. It will have a stock cam in it and will be used primarily for road touring.
The gasket I removed was a Fel-Pro, rear-stamped; apparently a steel gasket of unknown part # _______ ? It may have been selected from an economical consideration.
I have an unused Copper head gasket.
I have a new Best (brand) composite gasket (has 6 fire fires, plus the black composite material) .
Any advice ?

When chasing the threads.. Beware of some poorly made Chinese taps. You only want to remove crud NOT the base metal. A few bucks well spent on a U.S.A. tap can save you a bundle.0
