I might be crazy but...

Hi all. Saw this car for sale. Sent an e-mail. A parts car for sure. Wrote to the guy that I was a member of the HET Club. Was able to get him on the phone. We talked for an hour. At the end, he told me he had a lot of guys asking for the price. But that I was the one he was looking for...And he gave it to me...Went to see it. A 3 hours drive from my place. Up in the woods. Not an easy place to go. Will probably cost me between $500 to $600 to bring it here if I'm lucky. Will take years before I could get a penny of profit...after long hours of labor...But it's a Hudson. Don't know if I'll be able to take the motor and trans of the remains of another 51 they had many years ago. All the frame rails are gone. The doors open perfectly though. Could not unlock the hood. Neither the trunk. Will wait for the surprise! Could not believe how the door interior looked nice. I wished they would have been 54's, I would have place them right away in my car...Unless I decide not to put too much money in my 54, I could use them.... So, what do you think? I'm I crazy or what? Anyway, I'm gonna get it! Hudsons are too much rare in Québec. Waiting for your input! Thanks! Michel P.S. I've put 15 pictures. Hope they all will show up.

OK - did I read your post right..."he gave it to me" as in..a gift?
She's pretty crusty-n-rusty, but it is a Hudson.
I'd imagine this IS a parts car from the looks of the pics, there won't be a lot left after media blasting.0 -
THE STEERING WHEEL DOESN'T LOOKED CRACKED SO THATS 1 GOOD THING0

She is rough around the edges but definitely fixable. You would be crazy to walk away from that deal!
It probably needs rockers, and a new floor throughout but everything up from there should be good. Also being under cover I bet those doors are in great condition. This Hudson is too complete and nice to be a parts car!
Good Luck0 -

Thanks for your comments. I definitively go for it. Just to share this adventure is priceless! This was his dad's car in the sixties and his mom drove one too. Hid dad's was put behind the veneer panels, but his mom's was outside and was vandalized at some time. The city had him remove it but he cut it and saved the motor with aluminum head and trans that are still attached to the front rails with the front bumper and covered with the hood. Have to find a way to retrieve these before the snow gets it...I already have taken about 6 hubcaps, the mascot, a radiator, the radio and the big rope that used to hang in the back of the front seat. These were in a box inside the car. Hope there are more in the trunk. I plan to go on november the second. Michel0
