Cracked gooseneck
I have a hairline crack in the gooseneck that houses one of Walt's thermostats. Must have tightened it down too tight when I replaced the head gasket. I have another one that I broke years ago which has been brazed and may work fine, but I was thinking about using the stop leak fluid that one of you guys recommended on a previous thread that I haven't had time to review. Will that fix the small leak coming from that crack the same way it would for the head should it develop a leak. Or should I try to use the replacement gooseneck?

are you breaking the ears? glue the t-stat in with a little gasket sealer. if the thermostat slips out of the counterbore, it will not pull down flat and crack an ear. i'd go ahead and use the better one and find a good one. why risk that crack spreading especially with the added stress of temperature cycles and vibration.0
