I believe they were Silver in color. My 212 in my 39 is silver and I recall seeing a 41 traveler coupe and that engine was silver also. If some else can back me up on that or correct me?0

Silver, as far as I know. The generator and starter would of course be black. And I think that the hollow tube and bracket holding the spark plug wires was black also. And the air silencer, and distributor.0

Duplicolor's 500 degree engine paint, in "Aluminum," is an excellent match to the original. Get spraycans in most auto supply stores.0
