I am going to rebuild the engine in my 1940hudson. It's a 175ci engine. Can someone tell me the original color of this engine, or tell me where I can find them? Thanks all for the help

I believe they were Silver in color. My 212 in my 39 is silver and I recall seeing a 41 traveler coupe and that engine was silver also. If some else can back me up on that or correct me?

Silver, as far as I know. The generator and starter would of course be black. And I think that the hollow tube and bracket holding the spark plug wires was black also. And the air silencer, and distributor.
  • Thanks for the help. Was the transmission also silver?

Duplicolor's 500 degree engine paint, in "Aluminum," is an excellent match to the original. Get spraycans in most auto supply stores.
  • Thanks for all the help
