Did the truck cab from 40-47 ever have a drip rail? and what year did they fill the upper rear cab seam as I see some cabs of the same year both ways?
Does anyone know why the factory did this?
Thanks

I have never seen a 40's pu with a drip rail.

My dad's 46 pu didn't have the seam on the back of is cab. All 3 of my 47 pu's have the seam. Sorry don't know the reason why. Mybe to reduce manufacturing cost for its last year?

Sometimes the truck is registered as a 1946 and the registration # says it is a 47 or the otherway around. I have seen many PU's listed in the club roster that way. That could also lead to confusions about what year of the seams presence on back of cab.

Does your 41 have a filled seam and the 47 not?
  • No seam on my 46.

No drip rails on any '40-47 Hudson trucks, from the factory.
I've seen that back cab seem go horizontal, vertical, and filled. All looked factory.
