Kano Kroil
Every now and then you run across a product that actually does more than it says it will do. Yesterday while dissembling
the 52 Wasp, I gave my helper, a long time body and paint expert, a can of Kroil to help break loose the very rusted bolts and such to pull the bumpers and front clip off the Wasp. He was amazed at how well this stuff worked. Many bolts that we would have used heat on to break loose, came loose by applying Kroil and letting it set for a few minutes. We had been using PB blaster and it does not compare to Kroil. Excellent product and I am going to try some of their other products as well such as the Floway motor cleaner and Kano Ex-Rust. Will report back on those when I try them.

Great stuff, have been using it for many years. Long time (sadly long gone) car restorer friend turned me on to it back in the 80s. There other products are equally as good. They often have internet specials on their website. http://www.kanolabs.com.0

It is the magic elixir. Kroil stands for creeping oil.0

Thanks for the reminder Kerry
Kroil is exactly the right tool to have in the Hudson tool box. Past experiences with WD40 and other so called rust busters resulted in many broken bolts and busted knuckles.0 -
I learned about Kroil from a friend who was a civilian working at an Air Force station. It was the standard product there, they weren't allowed to use anything else. At the time, they would only sell direct to consumers by the case, $12 a can if I remember right ? I'm out , need more0

The acetone and tranny fluid works as a paint remover too!!! Don't ask how I found that out.0
-
Kroil does not remove paint, if it did my cars would be bare metal in places.0
-
Other than the website, is Kroil available anywhere else such auto parts stores, K-Mart, etc.,?0
-
I have never seen it in an auto parts store. Direct, Amazon, some gun shops carry it for bore lube. They primarily cater to large industrial lubricant applications.0
-
They have a deal right now which is essentially buy 1, get 1 free on the king size can thru this link. 2 cans with shipping is $20.

There is a place local to me in an industrial park that carries it, but they would never have it at this price. And it would cost me at least a gallon of gas to drive there and back...0 -
I think I may have seen it at my local NAPA not long ago.
I too have used the ATF & Acetone mix and it has worked well for me.

A couple of years ago there was a comparison by some testing agency that tested common products used for penetrator liquids. Kroil was on top, and Liquid wrench was a close second. Of course LW is easier to purchase. The best by far was ATF/ Acetone even mix. I have tried all of 'em. also WD-40 and PB Blaster. Kroil is great if you expect trouble and need to "shoot" a pressured spray Atf/ acetone is good to soak stuff in a container or an area where dripping liquid won't harm anything, because even with a small pump can, it tends to run where Kroil seeps better. IMO anyway. Ron0

I ordered the special along with the can with the spout on it for an extra $9.25. This supply should last me the rest of my life seeing how often I use penentrating oil!0
