I get a verification code to renew my password, however, every time I enter the verification code, the message I keep getting is "...verification code invalid".

It is frustrating for me to trying to access the HET webb site and no success!!!!!

  • Lee, I had the very same results when I tried to enter. I thought perhaps I had copied the code incorrectly, but as you had the same problem, I'd say I didn't copy it wrong. I'm equally frustrated.

  • Are y'all talking about www.hetclub.org?

Web questions go to HETwebmaster@hetclub.org drop the HET

I get in fine. But I do use the look ups much or the forums there which require the login.

I bookmark the site and whenever I go there, I'm already signed in. Are you guys having to sign in every time you go there?

Definitely you should e-mail the webmaster (who also happens to be the H-E-T President), and explain exactly what you are doing, and when exactly things start to go wrong.

For example, did you used to be able to get in, and lately you've started to get this verification code error? Or has it been this way for a long time? Maybe the webmaster can give you a new code if the old one is causing the error.

Lee, can you offer any advice to others who are having a problem getting to the website?

That is to say, did Aaron suggest doing anything different when you attempted to sign in, or was it a problem with the website that only he could fix?

Was the problem a universal problem which (now that he has fixed it) will now allow people to register? Or was the problem with your specific code or password?

Jon B, my advice is to contact Aaron at hetwebmaster@hetclub.org, drop the het.

Aaron told me the reason for the scrambled letters I was having trouble with, was because of hackers.

I don't now it the confirmation problem was universal or not. That Aaron had to fix.

Aaron installed a user name and password for me to try accessing the het webb forum.

Aaron fixed the confirmation number problem I was having. I was still having access problem because I was using a blank space between a couple letters in the user name. Aaron informed me a space will not work on the hetclub webb. He went ahead and fixed that and I was able to access the forum. I assume that would be true with no blank space in the pass word as well. I didn't ask.

I asked if he would put in the same user name and pass word I use for the classiccar hudson forum and he went the extra mile and installed them for me.

I am not computer knowledgable enough to fix anything with computer problems. Without Aarons help I would still be so frustrated it would have been along time before attempting access again. For Aaron to do all the entry work for me without my asking him to do it was a big stress relief. Because I didn't know not to use blank spaces, I still wouldn't be able to access the forum.

    Thank again Aaron.

Thanks for explaining this, Lee. Glad you were able to get your problem solved, and I hope others (who are having difficulties) will contact Aaron. And three cheers for Aaron, for getting the new website up and running and maintaining it. (While he serves as Club president, holds down a job, and raises a family!)

I've been hanging around this forum long enough to have been in on the ground floor, so to speak when we had a chat room, thru Classiccar, that ran, literally, 24-7. Most evenings there would be between 20 and 30 HET'ers chatting online about anything from Aardvarks to Zebra's. We had all sorts of things going on on that chat page. Hours of fun about the doings of Dr. Hiney and Aunt Hester - and their cross-country motorcycle trip that had Ole Desert Pete burying his silverware and Hudson parts in the back yard and getting out of town - And there were a couple of ladies who were ghosts that had been secretaries at the Hudson Motor Car Company. The only real problem was it would get really busy some nights and somebody asking a question could get buried before anybody could, or would, answer. Hard to believe all that was some 20 years ago.
Then classiccar crashed and when it came back it wasn't the same. Hardly anybody came back on the chat page and eventually the site crashed again and we have what we have today.
    Ah, those were the days.

I have only seen some of it today. For now I'm partial to this forum its the only one I have been on. I like this forum and for what little I have read to compare coments this one seems to be more helpful. However, the het club forum is helpful as well as having a broader range of information sights to choose from.
This forum has indicators to let you know which comments I have been read and which have not. I like that. The hetclub forum does not have that feature from what I can see.
The het club forum has the posters name above the aviator. I like that feature, I feel like I'm getting aquainted with someone. That is lacking for most but not all of the posts on this forum. I supose there is a reason for that however it just seems more frendly posting to a known person.
I can tell I'm going to get some good information from both forums and see no reason to criticise either one. I've been grateful for all the help I have received and I hope I have been able to be helpful as well.

I like this forum, it's quick & easy to enter & leave, don't have to screw around with passwords & now that I've mastered how to put photos in here, that works well for me too unlike Club site altho have to admit after last incidents some months ago, have not gone back.

went there just now, site immediately "recognized" me, didn't have to "log in" but tried to put in a photo - it showed in "phantom" but then did not put it in; oh well

There seems to be some problems with the Gallery that Aaron is working on. I still couldn't get the site to work, even after a phone con with Aaron. I finally gave up.
Maybe I should just send Aunt Hester over to your place, Pete, and see if she can't teach you a thing or two!!! :D

Pete, I'm sorry you're having troubles inserting photos into the new forum. Are you using photos with the .jpg extension? (I think they're the only ones that will work, but I could be wrong.)

Here is the process for posting a message on the HET forum, and adding a photo from your computer.

    1. After you open the "blank form" (that's what I call it) in order to post your new message, click ADD FILE button down toward the bottom of the form. A window should immediately pop open, showing your computer's file system.

    2. In the new window, navigate to the folder in your computer in which you have the photo that you wish to post. I believe this must be a .jpg, but possibly other formats will do.

    3. Select the individual photo then click OPEN in that window.

    4. Window disappears and you will see that the photo's filename has now appeared in the number 1 location, just next to ATTACHMENTS near the bottom of the "blank form".

    5. Press the INSERT button just to the right of this.

    6. After filling in the places for the subject and message of your post, press the SUBMIT button at the bottom of the "blank form".

Your new posting, complete with the photo you uploaded, should now appear when you open the forum

Jon I don't get that screen.
I go to my name, there's an "Add photo", I click on that, find the photo I want to post, then click "Post photo" at the bottom & the screen turns white. I also "picked a category" at the top as instructed ~

    Pete:

I'm getting confused! (Not unusual for me...)

Are you having trouble posting pictures at the H-E-T Club Forum (which is the counterpart to this Classiccar forum, except on the Club's website)?

Or are you having trouble creating an "album" at the H-E-T's "Gallery" (elsewhere on the Club website)?

As Rick said (just above), the Gallery seems to be stalled at the moment. No one can post photos there! But you should be able to post photos at the Club's Forum, just as you're able to post photos here at the Classiccar Forum. If you cannot, then we need to fix something!

Jon - I've not tried to set up an album as can't post there to begin with but in the Gallery.

Thanks for the photos. Love looking at the older models. Question, are the 32 and 33 head lights the same? I had only seen the 32 with that style lense. I have one displayed in the TV room. I think it is a cool part to look at. Now I am wondering if I have a 32 or 33 headlight.
