Just ran into this photo which I thought some of you might enjoy seeing.
I heard about this '38 conv. up in the Napa Valley of Calif. Pal Buzz & I went up, I bought it, we trailered in back south.
It was a model 83 Custom Six. I've never seen nor heard of another.
Told Kelly H. about it & he went nuts as had been looking for a '38 H8 conv. for years & knew it would be easy to convert this into an H8 so I sold it to him. He converted & restored it, subsequently died; I don't know where it is now.

and I was contacted about this also extremely rare pre-war 6 cyl. conv., a "Hudson Six" model 92. It was in the Berkeley area. Altho it may not look like it it was in better condition than the '38. It has a good home now & is either restored or being restored. I know of 2 other of these '39 model 92 converts.0

Pete, seems to me I heard that TK's 38 convert was in a museum, but I don't have details.

Kelly had several Hudson Convertibles. The attached pictures show Pete's Convert on a trailer at a HET national and the other is of Kelly and Martin White with Kelly's 42.0

yes, took a bunch of photos of the excellent original at Gettysburg too!
Wanted to meet & talk to the owner but he was seemingly never there.0 -
Rick - that's great as such a wonderfully original car, esp. as it's a convertible ergo more likely to deteriorate than a sedan; it's sorta like the proverbial "time warp"!0

ever seen one of these?
Found this in the swap area I think at last National in Dearborn. Snagged this as soon as guy put it down (didn't want the "unwashed" defiling it, LOL).
This is the only one of these I've ever seen. If you can read this you'll see on the top of the upper head is "ALUMINUM SUPER POWER DOME". Below it is a gasket & below that the iron head that sits on the block.
It is in good condition; bought it to give to best HET friend for his '34 Railton altho he has yet to ever do so.0 -
And this is a close-up of the alum. plate riveted to the side of the lower head; in case you can't read it it says: "USE FUEL OF HIGH OCTANE RATING".
For years I'd had the special gasket that goes between the 2 heads (ala old Victor book) BUT had never seen the head(s) for which is would be used so able to give Buzz both the head assy. complete with the special gasket.0
