'54 Hornet needing TLC
I don't think this is priced all that badly. Not sure what it looks like underneath but for someone looking for a starter Hornet or an easy project this could be your ticket!

I saw this too on the Chicago Craigs List. Thought about giving the seller a call, but it just seems to be more work than I'd want to take on based on the photos. It is to be hoped that this '54 Hornet goes quick to someone genuinely interested in fixing it up as it appears to be stored outdoors exposed to the nasty early winter weather we're presently enduring here in the Chicago area.
I wonder who's owned this particular Hornet in the past?

Looks like a drive it as it is car. Nice interior and running., Now, if it were only a coupe?0

Well Brownie you could weld the back two doors shut and remove the handles. Hey a little body work and you have a 2Dr!0

I guess that last comment did come out a bit negative. Since I like the 4-doors (I have had a few four door stepdown's and my favorite car is a 4-door saloon) I should retract my comment and say that is what I would expect a coupe to cost in the same condition. I could use a 54 sedan to park along side my 54 coupe.0

There you go.0 -
@Brownie,: If you come in Canada I'll let you park your 54 coupe along side my 54 sedan! Michel0

Sounds like a good offer and a fun trip. I think I will wait for summer. If not this summer we can meet up at the Colorado National in 2015.0

I spoke with the owner of this '54 Hornet via the phone a few days ago. Car shows 69,000 miles on it, but the owner is unsure if that's original. I asked about rust issues and he said that there's a hole in the driver's side floor. He didn't recall any rust problems with the frame. Left side driver's and passenger windows knocked out by vandals going throught the neighborhood with a pellet or BB gun. I believe the owner said he's had this car for at least seven years. Looks like it'd be worth a trip to check out. Too bad it's one of the worst times of the year to go look at a vintage Hudson.

I would think that if you are in the Chicago or Midwest area and were looking for a Hornet driver this would be a strong contender to at least look at. Floors are relatively easy fixes.0
