    It does indeed look like one of the rare '54 Hudson Wasp Club Sedans. Repainted, looks like interior was redone and without original motor. But one nonetheless. He says he has the original motor to go with it.

    Was what I originally had in mind. A 54 Wasp 2 dr with a stick and Hornet engine. Talk about rare and a fun ride. Took me two years to find my 54 Hornet 2 dr with a stick and it has needed a lot of work over the years and still isn't done :(

    My 54 Hornet Special coupe started its life with a stick until Ike Smith started working on it. Hope to have it running and on the road next month.....

    I really don't know why people call the engines "nascar",why not 308 Hornet engine?.. H-145 head is a '51 model year. Skirts probably won't fit these big tires?. Also sez will do great burn outs when the clutch is good?. Does it need a clutch?. I also don't know why people do such a great job of detailing the engine,and then paint the firewall flat black,along with all the wiring and accessories?. Just my opinion. It does look like a nice car,and could not be built again for the BIN price.

    Ike Smith was an Los Angeles based drag racer and mechanic who campained a Hornet powered Jet named the BEAST. I found some info on him by doing an internet search for Ike Smith Hudson. I think he had a repair shop back in the day that you could take your Car to and he would Soup it up.

    Ike Smith was to drag racing what Marshall Teag was to NASCAR. About the best way to say it. He also could make about any stepdown do a wheel stand off the line. His best work was with automatic transmissions. Google him, some great stuff on him and Hudson drag racing.

    Did any of you notice the picture of the engine - doesn't look to me like that block has the reinforcement rib above the bottom of the block that was part of the "308" block. Maybe I'm just not looking straight at it !

    OK;
    So, nobody knows this car.
    There's 15 hours left. What's it worth the way it's represented?

    If you want it, it's worth what he's asking for . . . like always.
  • Ken do you have a picture of Catfish's '54 SW Cl Sd?

    After Steve purchased his SW Club Sedan he redid the blue interior with SMS matching fabrics. His car was in great shape when last seen 2 years ago.

    The first picture is of the car at an Indiana HET meet (Auburn?) Second is of the car at a 1992 HETregional meet in Brigham City Utah, Glen Johnson had it for sale there.
