Caught part of the Chasing Classic Cars show where Wayne sweet-talked a nice old lady out of her Italia and 52 Hornet with only 49K miles on it. Guess he's gonna keep it. Wonder if he's gonna join the club? New England ought to get after him.

Ray Robinson found that Italia in a former Hudson then Rambler dealership. It had not been sold and was pushed behind some dunnage in the back of the dealership . Ray and Hazel were brother and sister. For years Ray and Hazel used Wayne's shop to service these cars. When Ray died, Hazel promised Wayne first refusal for both cars. Obviously, Wayne bought the cars, in fact, before Hazel passed on. The Italia is on display in a museum, I believe in Connecticut. The only time I was at the dealership the Hornet was on the showroom floor.

Wayne is a friend of my son Matt and goes to his car show "Hot Rod Fallout". Matt was there the day they filmed him buying the Hornet. The show only showed Wayne with Hazel.

My son Greg is the editor of the New England Chapter newsletter. Both have asked Wayne about joining our club. To date he hasn't. He also presented my brother Dan with a trophy at another car show in Connecticut for his '39 112 Coupe. I'm the only one that hasn't met him yet.

He is a Hudson lover, but like Jay Leno owns so many other makes doesn't join car clubs.
