    2872 would be the optional wheel cover (if 2872 is a 15" - the same style also having been produced in 16"). A '49 S6 came standard with a small chrome center cap.

    No, small chrome with the multicolor center like the large chrome 2872.

    No 16" for '49 model year,'47 and earlier. I think 16"would be standard equipment for a '47 and earlier super?.
