Hey Vidman,
If no one comes up with one I have been researching for one to fit in my oil bath type can.
I have a listing (somewhere) on different Fram filters by measurements. I might have gotten off their website. Just havent gotten around to figuring mine out.

Vid,
If you haven't found out already, conversion to a dry element in those requires considerable modification to the innards of the oil-bath housing. If you aren't concerned with "reversibility" of the mod, I suppose it can be done with some sheet metal work, removing the oiled-mesh housing and adding appropriate seats for the new element. As you've seen, there are at least a gazillion sizes of them in existence so you'll likely find an appropriate version somewhere. My determination was that it just wasn't worth the work and I hated to permanently alter the original oil bath unit. IMO, as little as most of our cars are driven, it doesn't really pose a maintenance issue.

Does the same problem exist if it is not an oil bath?0

I converted a Twin H filter from oil to paper and used STP #SA146. All that was required was to remove the oil filtering screen and canister. It has worked out fine .0

I don't think it would be the same easy mod for the '40 Traveler (or any of that era)......but I've been wrong before.
