The work on the car looks really nice! :)
I'll be interested in seeing what you have to say about the new shrinker/stretcher. I've thought about buying one of those because of the throat depth as compared to my Lancaster type. But the price was always a little too much for me. I suspect your not going to like the stand. But the machine will be fine. ...I hope.
For shrinking I think this is the best way to curve a flange. But for stretching I prefer compression. I know you didn't ask, but there is my two cents anyway. :D
Looking forward to seeing the updates, and how you fix the parimeter frame around the back. I've never done that before.

Always interested in other views. Thanks for the input.
I did a lot of reading on that shrinker stretcher before pulling the trigger. Hope it works as good as the feedback!
While I was writing this, FedEx delivered it.
    first impressions-
Looks painted instead of powdercoated. That will be a problem as paint is just not as durable as PC and I live in a very humid area.
Tag has "made in China". The truth be known, had I known that when I first looked at them I would not have even taken a second look!
One corner of the stand foot looks to have been bent when they loaded it in China. I took a 4 lb hammer and rapped it a few times to straighten it out.
I put it together and ran a scrap piece thru, the machine did as it was designed. I will work with some more metal and add to the report for those interested. I wish I had another machine with the "Lancaster" jaws to compare as you can get those made in the U.S.
