I have, among other parts, a thermostat housing out of a '51 commodore 6. the mounting bolts are IN LINE with the outlet hose connection. Mine is 90 degrees to the bolt holes so this for sale. It has a part number stamp of 300015 as far as I can tell and is, of course, cast. Terry

Where the heck did that come from? The p/n matches the book and about ten I could see from where I was standing in the shop and none of them have the outlet facing the front. Take a look inside or scrape some paint off and tell me it has evidence of welding/brazing. Looks kinda like it in the photo. I suppose it was modified for use in a pre-S/D car with centered radiator inlet or in a S/D with non-Hudson radiator.

  • I'll go back out to the garage sometime today and sand the silver paint off to see what was done and how. There was no radiator in the car that this came from
  • Hmmmmmm. Isn't that what I said?

  • He may have been referring to me- as the old "freak brothers" comics use to say- "the faster I go, the behinder I get". Anyway, your both right. Under the outlet tube there's the remnants of the "v" shape for welding that was not quite filled in. Seems like a lot of work but it may have been someone's only choice. It's still available!!!
