I also agree with the 2" Head measurement....

That is my understanding as well-verified by measuring several potential heads. If you are rebuilding an engine you can shave .100 off the head and have a 50/50 chance of the head not failing. I went through three aluminum and one steel head before I figured out that making he head flat (and milling your block as well) is what you go for. And, you have your best luck starting with a 308 steel head. I ran these on my 1952 Salt Flats Racing car with good success.0

All FACTORY heads. The Clifford head is thicker.

Jack always said the Aluminum Hudson Heads were 1" too thin. Was his 3" ???0

So are aluminum heads thinner or thicker from the iron heads and did hudson make them?? thanks john0

Dave, my Clifford (aftermarket) head is approx. 2.535" and no idea how many times its been cut.

The Stock Hudson 308 Aluminum Head is the same 2" Dimension
