Ken U-Tx @ It seems to me that I tried to use the stepdown shock on my Jet way back when, but it was too long. I ended up using the front shocks for a Plymouth Volari and Dodge Aspen

I put Monroe 31176 shocks in my '54 Jet last year. Pretty easy install, and didn't have any problems with them. Got a pair off Amazon for $35 including shipping.0

Thanks guys. Joe - I just ordered front (2 Monroe 31176 for $24 shipped!) and rear shocks for the Jet. Looking forward to installing them.

Sounds great--you beat my price!!! Seemed like the fronts were much easier to install...had to crawl in the trunk to get those rear shocks out! Good luck, sure made a difference in the ride with mine.0

What is the latest for Stepdown shocks?

first series Corvette 53-62 shocks work on the front of stepdowns. You can then put performance shocks on if you wish. I put Edelbrock shocks on my 54. I don't know what will work on the rear.0
