Fan Blade Length

I have read conflicting articles on the proper length of fan blade used on the 48 Commodore 8 cylinder.
I measured mine and it is 17" tip to tip.
Did Hudson start putting on 18" during the production run?
Thanks

Was this 18" blade ever used on a Hudson 8cyl engine?
The tips are bent forward maybe to pull more air in?

The fan blades pictured are the type used in 1952-1954 (or more).  #305153.

the 1948-1951 fan blade was also 18" but without the "tweaked" tips.  # 302398

    the 46-47 fan was a 2 piece blade that was 17" .  #166280

    the 34-42 fan was also a 2 piece blade 17"  #45925

The 52-54 was also wider and supposedly quieter  due to the Tweaked tips.

Many stepdowns have been fitted with the later fan, for better cooling and quieter operation.

My car is the Commodore 8 and there is little room for a 18" fan.
Do you mean the 18" #302398 was for the 262 engine?

18" was for both, Maybe radiator needs repositioning to give clearance. In 48-51 was the fan without the tweaked tips. straight blades required less space.
