1937 Hudson Model 74 Deluxe Eight Coupe. This is an extremely rare and desirable prewar Hudson that was restored around 1998. At the time of the restoration, the complete chassis was rebuilt including engine, transmission, brakes, steering, etc. Today, the car runs and drives like new. The straight eight engine starts easily, idles smooth, does not smoke or overheat. The transmission shifts smoothly and easily, the brakes work extremely well and the steering is accurate and responsive. The whitewall tires look nearly new.  All of the electrical components work such as lights, gauges, etc. The interior was redone in a tan mohair and today is still nice, clean and very presentable including the door panels, seats, headliner and rear storage area. The trunk area is mostly original and has a matching spare tire/wheel.  The body appears extremely straight and solid and the doors, hood and trunk fit the body well. The chrome is also very clean including the grille, bumpers, etc. The body paint is rather amateurish. While it presents good from a distance, its biggest flaw is mainly on the blue finnish which does not consistently match and shows overall signs of wear. Very few eight cylinder Hudsons exist today and of those, there are few coupes. The art deco details on this Hudson go on forever and the car has a very impressive overall look. It can be enjoyed as-is and is a great driver quality car that is ready to tour. Of course, it could also be a very worthwhile recipient of a repaint which would make it a great car to show. The price is 33,000.00 or near offer and it is located in Jefferson, WI.Please call 734-730-4274 or email: motoringicons@hotmail.com for more information for more information and photos.  A few photos can be seen on the following link:

It has the pre-'37 exhaust manifold which implies that the engine is not the correct one for a '37.

Not 37 steering wheel. Nice car but seems a little pricey.

THE HEAD IS NOT 34,35,36 HUDSON SO I'M THINKING IT IS A,8,9 ENGINE IF NOT THE ORIGNAL 37

Looks exactly like a '36 head to me.
  • That's the coupe that Bill Albright had for sale
