101 uses for a dead Terraplane

This is an interesting originally skid mounted welding set, 300 amp 80V powered by an A model engine, professionally made probably in the mid 30s.

At some later time it has been mounted on a crude trailer which turns out to be a modified (hacked about) 37? chassis. The 2 axles are the front and back Terraplane axles, mounted a little closer together than they were originally. The axles still have their hydraulic brakes which are operated by the original brake master cylinder used as an over-ride system. All quite ingenious.

The engine set up is ingenious. The intake and exhaust manifold assembly was flipped to make a down draft intake and let the exhaust exit the top. I almost did that when building a speedster a few years ago. I just didn't want the exhaust in my face! LOL. The oil pan is a 1928 since it has a removable oil pump cover. Oil filler tube is also an adaptation, it was originally on the other side. Water pump is Not Model A but probably an industrial adaptation. A great mateing of Hudson and Ford.
