A/C Condensers for '54 Hornet

Rudy, I moved my 54 Hornet Special radiator toward the engine, have forgotten by how much, but was able to mount the Vintage Air condenser for a 40 Ford. Walt Mordenti uses the same condenser. I have been on the highway in 90+ ambient and very comfortable. I am not sure how it would handle heavy city traffic though and I am running a 6 blade fan. Bruce

Thanks Bruce. I'll check into that. I think we are going to have to trim the grill a bit to get an aux. fan in, but others have done it and it seems to work for them. Thanks for the tip. Gives me something to shoot for. Bob0

Bob, I have very little room between the grill and condenser, about enough to slide in a piece of window screen for a bug catcher. As for an electric fan I may have room for 2 smaller puller fans on the engine side and I have factory PS, the AC brackets are from Joe Stinnett. Hope this helps. Bruce

BruceAre you running a 17" fan blade,do you know the depth of the blades?0

48Sed, Yes, it is a 17" fan and it is NOT a flex fan. I bought it from Speedway several years ago on Super Dave's recommendation and am not disappointed. My car is in winter storage and not accessable right now so I am unable to give you any info on the blades but they have a much greater pitch than the stock Hudson fan and there are more of them, 6 or 7.
