Headliner install

I have a headliner to install on my 54 coupe. I've installed a couple in the past on 60's vintage Fords, but they both had the push on plastic windlace around the doors and the headliners were made of vinyl that you could stretch. Can I install the headliner before the windlace as I don't have any yet, or do I have to buy and install windlace first? What holds the windlace in place? The headliner I have is like the original made of I guess a brushed cotton and I'm not sure if there is a special way to install fabric.

The windlace needs to go in first. It is tacked or stapled in0

Hi Hudson Grampa I asked my friend that is helping me with the Hudson to ask his wife to take some pictures of the headliner as I live about 80 miles one way from his place. Well The pictures were sent to me but they were of another Hollywood so emailed back and said please send me the right pictures. She emailed back that they were the right ones.I will not rock the boat.We lost our digital camera so am in a boat with no paddle . Ha Ha . Ray0
