Brace for carrier bearing

Other than holding the carrier bearing does this brace serve a purpose? I can't belive it does anything structure wise, too thin. Thoughts on removing this? No I'm not using a 2 piece driveshaft anymore.

If you are not using a 2-pc. driveshaft, then, no, you don't need it.

A single piece driveline dramatically changes the angle.

How do you plan on not scraping the driveline going over speed bumps and driveway entrances?

Rambo's Ride. It fits inside that brace but is really close to it and I'd rather just remove it and not have to worry about them hitting.

If its a 4 door the angle just won't work (IMO) with a single driveshaft. Here's pics of my 454/TH400 with a Chevy truck 2pc driveline. I still had to cut the bottom out of the rear x-member where the 2nd driveshaft angles thru.

Without pivoting the rear pinion the long driveshaft is going to hang down and I'd bet dollars to doughnuts going over driveway entrances, speed bumps that the 1pc driveshaft will hit.
