Hello all! The restoration continues on the '54 Jet before I give it to my daughter.

I'm interested in upgrading to a dual master cylinder.

Has anyone done this? If so, what's involved and what M/C did you use?

I appreciate all the help and advice I've been receiving. You guys (and gals) are great!
Mike

    Hey Mike,
Heres a link to an earlier thread that may help.

  • Thanks! I've read it and I'm very interested. Any major changes when applying this to a Jet?

There is a way to do it (isn't there always?) but it's a sizeable project involving fabrication and machining of some custom parts but it does work fine and uses a common Chrysler MC. Although I'm sure Ken meant it as a general example, the kit shown in Ken's post poses a real danger of interference with the ground, i.e., snagging those bottom-outlet bosses and the attached lines on a lump in the road. I used the Chrysler as it has two 3/8-24 side outlets. Note that the dust boot wasn't yet installed in the photo. The push-rod is the original Jet part in the same position. Of course, the reservoir is on the firewall where God intended.

Quick......Easy? What planet are you from? I never do anything the easy way.
To be honest, I'll show others what I've done but to create/sell anything related to braking systems is opening the door for serious liability issues. Call me chicken, but ours is a country of lawyers and you know where that goes. I'll stick to Full Flow Oil Filtration systems.

  • Frank, do you happen to have a part number or more info for the Chrysler mc?  Your set-up looks very, very nice!
