Have you made sure hinge pin are not worn letting the door sag?
Take ahold of the bottom of door and check for play in hinges you can replace pins with new ones or put oversize in them. You may also have to adjust striker plate on door post or adjust it . or replace it

"On the Hollywoods and Converts, there is actually a turnbuckle running
diagonally from the top front down to the bttom of the door that can be
tightened to bring the rear of the door up for alignment"
Very interesting. I'll have to check my shop manual for this. I wonder if anyone has sort of thing.
The pins are ok. The pillar sheet metal is pretty wimpy, you'd think they would put some sort of brace behind it for the two door cars.

As you already know the door hinge plates are located in pockets in the door frame. The integrity of the door frame is dependent on welds that connect the door frame to the body cavity. If these weld fail so goes the door alignment. Experience speaking.0

If your hinge pins look good its definitely busted spot welds on the hinge pockets or actual cracks in the sheet metal.
Here's a series of pictures I took on a 50 super door I fixed.
