Starter MCH-6109 was used in 1953-1955 Hornets (also 1951-52 exc. P'maker and 1953-54 Super Wasp.
with standard transmission;
For hydramatic transmission it was MCH-6306 used only on 1955 Hornet 6's.
I found a 1955 Hornet in a junk yard years ago when I had a 1953 Hornet sedan. I pulled the starter but found it wouldn't fit. Now, I'm trying to think back but it seems to me I recall the ears for the bolts were off a few degrees so it didn't fit my '53 engine. Can't really remember now.

Thanks Alex - Yes I have a hydramatic, but I think that the hydramatic is from the origional 53 engine. Would that make a difference?

Now that I don't know - probably not, but I wouldn't want to say for sure.
